What is iSaaS?
iSaaS (image search as a service) is the term for a subscription-based service enabling its users to protect their artwork, designs, products, and more by utilizing image recognition software to identify unauthorized online uses of their intellectual property.
How is it used, and who can it help?
Companies wishing to employ iSaaS can do so by creating applications for their subscribers to use on their computers, phones, tablets, or other smart devices. The users themselves would be given a moderate amount of control through these apps to specify what exactly they would like to search. These businesses running the iSaaS applications may decide to allow a single image to be searched at a specific time, or many. There are different actions that can be taken to alert users that a match has been found- this includes notifications on one’s phone, emails, or text messages.
iSaaS programs themselves do not report or remove the matched images from the websites they are being shared on in order to avoid complications, such as false positives or legal issues. Their goal is to point the user to the matched image. They may suggest some options on how to go about getting the photo removed, but it is up to the subscriber to review the image and take action.
These iSaaS applications could be for personal or company-wide usage. For example, this could range from a single freelance artist who is trying to prevent copies of their artwork being distributed, to a large gaming company who is attempting to recover leaked preproduction images.
What major corporations could possibly create an iSaaS offering?
There are a plethora of organizations (and yes, even some of the technology juggernauts) which have a reverse image search tool that could be used for an iSaaS solution. Others already have a form of this that has been used for several years. However, if their current online image recognition tools are any indication of their capabilities, their users will find themselves with little useful information, many false positives and miss out on images that are being easily hidden by editing. These companies can only handle 20% cropping, and no more than 10° of rotation, because they are utilizing older image recognition techniques (like SIFT or a derivative).
Why use a DejaVuAI iSaaS application?
DejaVuAI is the only image recognition technology on the market that can accurately identify more than 98% cropping (more in the near future), arbitrary rotation (supporting 1/10° increments), and up to 30° skewing (45° in specialized applications like ProductReco and LogoReco). DejaVuAI is also not fooled by recoloring, partial obscuring, shearing, shredding, flipping / mirroring, and scaling. In addition, it’s also not thwarted by adversarial noise- making it the only image recognition algorithm that can see through this Machine Learning vulnerability.
